Fitting / Sheet Metal Workshop

This basic workshop offers training to students on Fitting and Sheet metal practices. Students are given practices on various types of metal joints. The sheet metal operations are given to students using cardboard sheets, templates, and sheet metals. Plumbing practices using GI and PVC pipes are also given to students

Thermal Engineering Lab

This laboratory offers hands on training in the calculation of various physical and thermal properties of materials. The students are given exposure in preparing heat balance sheets, port timing and valve timing diagrams, and emission test. The students are given in depth training in finding thermal and physical properties of materials like fuels, etc.

Carpentry / Wiring Workshop

This basic workshop provides hands on training to students in carpentry and electrical wiring. Students are given exposure in various types of wooden joints based on real time carpentry practices. In the electrical wiring workshop, the students create, build, connect and verify the electrical circuits for domestic applications. Electrical safety is imparted to students during the training sessions. Furniture fabrication and repair maintenance work for the entire campus is taken care by this workshop.

Foundry Workshop

This workshop provides hands on training to students on moulding and casting processes. Aluminium is melted and poured into moulds as letters, numbers, symbols, and patterns. Students and given exposure in wax moulding using metal dies.

Welding Workshop

This welding workshop is well designed to provide complete welding practices to the students. In association with Indian Welding Society, Trichy this workshop offers hands on training in welding to the students to cater the current needs of industries. Arc, TIG, MIG, and Gas welding practices are given to students. Welding Inspection procedure is also offered to students with the help of BHEL experts through IWS, Trichy.

Lathe Workshop

This workshop provides hands on training to students to perform different operations on lathes of various makes. The students are given exposure in the selection of lathes, calculation of cutting parameters and thread making procedures.

Industrial Automation Lab

This laboratory is used to train the students in Pneumatics and Hydraulics. The imported trainer kits available in this laboratory makes the students to understand the different types of pneumatic and hydraulic components, their functions, and their applications. The students are given hands on training in building and executing pneumatic and hydraulic circuits using the components for the given industrial applications.

CIM Lab

This laboratory is designed to enhance the knowledge of students in Computer Aided Manufacturing to get real time industrial exposure. Students will write Part programs and machine the components using the CNC machines available in this laboratory.

Machine Tools Workshop

This specialised workshop accommodates different types of special machines including Gear Hobbing machine. Students are given hands on training in all the machine tools to cater the needs of industries.

Automobile Engineering / Metrology Lab

This laboratory is well equipped to improve the skills of the students in dismantling and assembly of automobile components and their services. Precision instruments available in this laboratory provide hands on training to the students to make them industry ready.

Mechanical CAD Lab

This computer centre facilitates the learning level of students in Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD). Students are given training in 2D Drafting and 3D Solid Modelling of machine components. Students are given individual desktops to enhance their knowledge in CADD. The creativity of students in New Product Development is augmented using the 3D printers available in this centre.
